A Personal Note from the Department Head Concerning Faculty Office Hours and the Importance of Meeting Student Needs

The Department of Counseling and Student Affairs is committed to providing excellence in the programs we offer as well as in the way we treat our students. Students work hard while they are enrolled in our courses and programs, but they leave here exceptionally prepared as counselors and student affairs professionals.

Although many of our faculty are known both nationally as well as internationally for the quality of their research and public service contributions, their first obligation and priority is always to our students. The faculty in our department are committed to providing our graduate students with an educational experience that is second to none; we recognize and appreciate the need to be as responsive as possible to the students we serve.

Worldclass teaching, advising and mentoring is the collective goal of the faculty in this department.

In order to assure that this goal is realized, all faculty are required to maintain weekly office hours in the department. Some faculty maintain the same office hours each week throughout the semester, while others vary their schedules each week in order to meet their other professional commitments. Belinda Wisdom, our departmental office associate, maintains the current office hours for all faculty in the Department of Counseling and Student Affairs.
