Mental Health Practicum and Internship (CNS 591 and 596)

The heart of the student’s clinical training is the Practicum and Internship experience. Approaching the courses with a professional attitude and determination will make this experience richly rewarding. Students work with real clients who have real problems. Maintaining high ethical standards and working diligently to learn clinical skills will facilitate one’s entry into the profession.
The student and their appointed advisor need carefully plan the Mental Health (MH) or Marriage, and Family Therapy (M&FT) program of study. There are several steps needed prior to being admitted into the Mental Health Practicum, students need to carefully review information regarding Practicum Orientation (link). Secondly, after reviewing the information, students need to contact the Mental Health Practicum/Internship Coordinator, Dr. Duba to indicate an interest in taking practicum for the upcoming summer.
