Ed. S. in Psychology - School Psychology:
Specialist in Education Degree

Course Requirements

"It is challenging but the professors are encouraging and positive." -- program graduate

The 71 graduate hours consist of lecture courses, practica, an internship, and a specialist project. Undergraduate, remedial coursework, and coursework designed to remove deficiencies in meeting requirements for program admission are excluded from credit to the school psychology degree. No 400G level courses can be counted towards the Specialist in Education degree. This latter mandate is a WKU Graduate Studies policy.

All courses required by this program are designed to fulfill certification requirements as set forth by the Kentucky Department of Education and accreditation requirements as specified by the National Association of School Psychologists and the National Council on Accreditation of Teacher Education. A typical course sequence is as follows:
