Master of Arts in Psychology - Experimental Psychology

Success After Graduation

The quality of our program is shown by our continued success in placing our students in highly reputable doctoral programs in a variety of areas in psychology (e.g., experimental, clinical, developmental, educational). Because our students receive a great deal of research experience, they are very competitive in doctoral program admissions. Also, because our students work closely with several faculty members, they leave with strong letters of recommendation. In fact, since 1995, almost all of our graduates who applied to a Ph.D. program have been accepted into at least one program. The programs included experimental, clinical, developmental, and educational psychology programs, as well as cognitive, neuroscience, and visual science programs.

In addition, many students who have decided not to pursue a Ph.D. degree have been very successful at finding employment in applied settings following the completion of the program. The strong quantitative background students receive from our program makes them highly marketable. Some of our recent graduates are employed as data management technicians, research assistants, and college instructors. (See "Previous Students" for a list of all of our graduates over the last several years and their current status.)
