Comments, Questions and Answers

We are the envy of all other colleges on campus with the access we have to technology for our courses and our professional work. It is abundantly clear when I am at conferences where I hear other professors talk about the technology (and lack thereof) that we are so far ahead.

Thank you.  It is nice to receive positive feedback.

As a new faculty member, I have been pleasantly surprised and impressed with the quality of the technology available in the classrooms. I use them on a daily basis with my classes. I would like to have access to closed caption on the televisions if possible as I have one student who is hearing impaired and it makes it difficult to use videos in the classroom without captioning. Everytime I have called for assistance, my problems or request have been taken care of in record time. Thank you and your staff for all you do - there are many like me who really appreciate all the work.

Thank you.  It is nice to receive positive feedback.  The televisions in the classrooms have closed caption capabilities; however, not all video tape is encoded with closed caption.

I would like a wireless mouse added to the classrooms.

Some classrooms have these at this time.  They were paid for with departmental funds.  We will be happy to install these items if your department will pay for them or whenever we are able to acquire funding in some other way.

I would like dvd players in the computers in the classrooms.

Perhaps having video in the "podium set up.

DVD

The computers that we placed in the classrooms do not have dvd players.  The next replacement cycle will probably have them.  The replacements will take place beginning this summer.

I am very pleased to hear of the additions that are going into effect as I feel their utilization has the ability to enhance future instruction when used in a thought provoking manner.

just continued flexibility and enhancements

Thank you.  We will be making the additions late this fall and this summer

I want to be able to type and have what I type projected on the screen. That technology may exist and I don't realize it.

We can help you with that.

please do not lose the ability to play videotape

vcr hooked to projector

As we make improvements later this Spring and this Summer, we will be moving the VCRs to the lecterns and connecting them to the projectors and speakers.

Access to the USB ports is very difficult on most of the classroom machines in TPH. This limits some of the uses I and my student would like to have (use of cameras and pen drives)

The new computers that will be placed this Spring and Summer have USB ports on the front.  Many of the computers placed in the lecterns this last time have them as well.

I would like a document camera in the classrooms.

The whiteboard in the Electronic Classroom is fantastic - I know I am dreaming, but the more of those we can get into classrooms, the more interactive and demonstrative our teaching can become.

Way to show opague materials, ie books, forms, sample work...

We will install document cameras and electronic white boards in at least two classrooms on each floor as part of our improvements this Spring and Summer.

Thank you so much for adding the technology! It makes my job so much easier and more effective!

Thanks for the new equipment in the classrooms

Thank you.  It is nice to receive positive feedback.

We are very fortunate to have the technology we have. Anyone who does not understand that should take a trip to any of the other colleges!

Thanks!

Having it already in the classroom makes it much easier to deliver. I appreciate being able to take the disk instead of having to take the projector and the computer and all the other stuff. Thank you!

Thanks!

I'd like to see some science probes in the science lab

Maybe wireless keyboards that groups of students could use to enter work on screen during class

Come by and see us; we will do whatever we can to help.
