Project CHILDD: Communities Honoring Individuals of Cultural and Linguistic Diversity with Disabilities
Faculty & Staff | Advisory Board | Available Funding* | Service Obligation* | Student Cohorts

Beginning July 1, 2007 Project CHILDD is a 4 year personnel preparation grant funded by the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). The purpose of the project is to prepare early intervention and preschool personnel who are fully certified to serve children with disabilities and their families, especially those from culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) backgrounds in rural and high poverty areas.

The Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education Program faculty will review and select students to participate in the training program beginning with the fall 2007 semester. Priority will be given to students who are seeking initial certification in IECE. Training stipends for classes and expenses will be made available, amounts based on part/full time enrollment. Candidates who accept funding will have a service obligation to work with young children and families.
